Upcoming Series to Feature 4th of July Extravaganza, Fiesta Night, & First Annual SPLASH Day!

Grand Prairie, TX. The Grand Prairie AirHogs return to QuikTrip Park this Friday for a six-game salute to summer fun and super-savings, as they battle the ’08 league champion Sioux Falls Canaries, and the Shreveport-Bossier Captains.

July 3 - Grand Prairie AirHogs vs. Sioux Falls Canaries – Game Time 7:05 p.m. – Gates Open 6 p.m. Friday, July 3rd kicks off the AirHogs’ second annual MILITARY NIGHT as well as a FREESTUFF FRIDAY Flag Giveaway to the first 1,500 fans courtesy of Porters Army/Navy. Several branches of the military will be in attendance and ceremonial first pitches feature several local soldiers. The AirHogs players will be wearing camouflage jerseys which will be auctioned off after the game and fans can even purchase AirHogs dog tags for just $5. All proceeds benefit the USO.

July 4 - Grand Prairie AirHogs vs. Sioux Falls Canaries – Game Time 6:05 p.m. – Gates Open EARLY 4 p.m. Saturday, July 4th will feature the AirHogs’ own July 4th Extravaganza with gates opening early at 4 p.m. featuring live music and Independence Day festivities and characters. The game will start early at 6:05 p.m. and afterwards, fans will be invited down onto the field to watch the Lone Star Park Fireworks Show.

July 5 - Grand Prairie AirHogs vs. Sioux Falls Canaries – Game Time 6:05 p.m. – Gates Open 5 p.m. Sunday, July 5th hosts a new event entitled “Cinco de Julio Fiesta Night” presented by Al Dia Newspaper and Recuerdo 94.1 FM in appreciation and celebration of the local Hispanic community. Live music by “Tony & Jose” will be featured along the concourse. It’s also another Family Sunday which means pre-game catch-on-the-field and post-game kids-run-the-bases, PLUS: $1 HOTDOGS and $1 sodas all-night long.

Everyone loves the spectacular free fan festival, which will open just outside the ball park three hours before game time. The Principal Financial Group Family Fun Fest features over 20 attractions including batting and pitching cages, bungee runs, super slides, bounce houses, a “rookie zone” the Great Clips Best Buy mobile video game arcade, a historic minor league baseball museum, and you can even put yourself on a free souvenir Days Inn baseball card and Sports Illustrated for Kids magazine cover. July 8 - Grand Prairie AirHogs vs. Shreveport-Bossier Captains – Game Time 11:05 a.m. – Gates Open 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 8th features the AirHogs’ First Annual Summer Camp SPLASH DAY! The early-start day-game will host summer-camp kids from all over the Metroplex. PLUS: Everyone is prepared to GET WET as the “hog-wild” promotions staff will be leading the fun on SPLASH DAY with water balloons, hoses, sprinkers, and as always, the in-game CANNONBALL CONTEST!
