The Grand Prairie AirHogs opened up another road series with a victory Wednesday, defeating the Lincoln Saltdogs 5-1.
The star of the game was ‘Hogs starter Trevor Harden. He notched his second complete game of the season, giving up only one unearned run on five hits, grabbing five strikeouts including three in the ninth inning. Harden earned his first victory in four starts against his former team this year.
The ‘Hogs offense helped Harden out with a big fourth inning. Abel Nieves drove in Jimmy Mojica to tie the score at 1 apiece, then the next batter, Jason Botts, gave the AirHogs the lead for good with a three-run homer to right-center field, his ninth of the year. Mojica added another run with an RBI single scoring Madison Carter in the eighth.
Grand Prairie improved its season record to 30-37 with the win. The second game of the four-game series with Lincoln is scheduled for Thursday at 7:05 p.m. at Haymarket Park.
