GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas – The Texas AirHogs fell to the Lincoln Saltdogs 12-5 Wednesday at AirHogs Stadium. Stewart Ijames finished with a home run, a triple, two runs and two RBIs.
The Saltdogs scored 11 runs over the first three innings vs. AirHogs starter Sun Jianzeng (0-2) and Zhu Jinghao. Lincoln was led by Curt Smith, who finished with three hits and three RBIs. Chad Hinshaw scored three runs.
The AirHogs scored twice in the fourth, once in the sixth, and twice in the seventh. Dillon Thomas finished with two doubles and a run scored. Casio Grider recorded one hit, an RBI and a run scored.
Derek Gordon (3-0) picked up the win for Lincoln, going 6.1 innings and limiting the AirHogs to seven hits and five runs (five earned). Lincoln outhit Texas 10-9.
Texas (5-19) and Lincoln (16-10) close the series tomorrow at 7:05. RHP Miguel Rosario (0-3, 4.42 ERA) is expected to start for the AirHogs. RHP Mike Tamburino (2-0, 1.82 ERA) will start for the Saltdogs.
