AirHogs stay alive in Division Race

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas – The Grand Prairie AirHogs scored 2 go ahead runs in the bottom of the 8th inning to secure a 5-3 victory over the Amarillo Sox Saturday night at QuikTrip Park.

Andres Rodriguez had 3 RBI double in the 3rd that put the AirHogs on the board first. Trent Lockwood would seal the deal in the 8th with the go-ahead 2 RBI triple in his pinch-hit appearance.

AirHogs starter Nick DeBarr lasted five and two-thirds innings, giving up 3 runs and walking 1 with 4 strikeouts. Derrick Miramontes had a 1 walk, 2 strikeout inning and a third.

Ronnie Morales (5-4) picked up the win his inning of relief. Justin Dowdy picked up his 17th save of the season.

Notes: Laredo won their game as well, keeping the deficit at 2 games. If Laredo loses tomorrow, the AirHogs must win in order to have a shot at the playoffs on Monday.
