Season will end with Monday’s game

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas – The Grand Prairie AirHogs shut out the Amarillo Sox 8-0 in Sunday night’s game at QuikTrip Park. The AirHogs learned just before the game that Laredo had won their game, clinching the South for a playoff berth.

Eight-of-nine ‘Hogs had hits in the thrashing, including multi-hit games from Bryan Frichter, Andres Rodriguez, Jonny Kaplan and Yasutsugu Nighimoto. Frichter and Kaplan each batted in 3 runners, as well as both hitting home runs.

Alain Quijano (5-7) pitched a complete game allowing only 3 hits and 1 walk. Amazingly, he was able to pitch a three-hitter without striking out a single batter.

Monday marks the end of the season for Grand Prairie, as they will look to sweep Amarillo. Game time is set for 2:05 p.m. central time.
