AMARILLO, Texas - The Lincoln Saltdogs scored 3 times in the top of the 9th to steal Game 1 of a 3-game set in Amarillo Monday by a final of 10-8. Michael Hur finished with 3 RBIs in the contest, played in front of a crowd of 6221 at Potter County Memorial Stadium.

Matt Shepherd got the ball to start for the AirHogs. He allowed a run in the 1st on an RBI groundout by Luis Alen to score Robby Kuzdale, who led off the game with a triple. Jon Smith went deep off Shepherd in the 2nd to run the Saltdog lead to 2-0.

The AirHogs answered back and then some in the bottom of the 2nd. Cody Lenahan led off with a triple to cue a 7-run, 6-hit explosion. Lenahan would finish with a triple and a double in the frame, and Hur picked up 3 RBIs on a double of his own to highlight an incredible offensive clinic by the home team.

But Lincoln would not go quietly, scoring twice in the 4th and twice in the 5th. They knocked Shepherd from the game after he boarded Curt Smith and Rene Leveret in the 7th. Facing Tyler Ihrig with 2 outs, Tyler Urps cashed in for an RBI single to tie the game at 7 going to the bottom of the 7th.

The AirHogs re-seized the advantage in the bottom half of the 8th. An infield single by Brian Bistagne scored Leon Byrd to make it 8-7.

Once again the Saltdogs struck back though. They loaded the bases with 1 out in the top of the 9th vs. Carlos Misell, and once again it was Urps who delivered. His double down the right field line scored 3 and built Lincoln a lead that closer Evan Reed would not relinquish.

Misell took his 2nd loss, while Stephen Shackleford, who surrendered Byrd's run in the 8th, picked up his 2nd win. The save was the 10th of the year for Reed.

The AirHogs (17-27) and the Saltdogs (23-20) meet again tomorrow at 7:05. RHP Cody Hebner is expected to start for the AirHogs.
