LAREDO, Texas - The AirHogs fell in a heartbreaker 1-0 to the Laredo Lemurs Tuesday at Uni-Trade Stadium. AirHogs pitching held Laredo to just 4 hits, a season-low for the staff, but the team suffered its 2nd straight loss in the series.
Derek Callahan got the start for the AirHogs. The lefty pitched 6 frames of 3-hit, 1-run ball, allowing only Denis Phipps to cross on a solo home run to start the 6th. Callahan struck out 5 and stranded 7 before turning the ball over to Tyler Harris and Alan Oaks in the 7th and 8th. Harris and Oaks faced just 7 in 2 frames of scoreless ball.
Laredo starter Troy Marks picked up his 7th win by striking out 11 and allowing just 1 hit over 6 frames. Relievers Danny Reynolds and Jeff Inman faced the minimum from the 7th through the 9th. The save was the 2nd of the series and the 16th of the season for Inman. The loss was the 4th of the season for Callahan.
The AirHogs (33-61) and the Lemurs (53-41) meet again tomorrow at 7:05. RHP Carlos Misell is expected to start for the AirHogs.
