2015 made for an impressive debut for relief man Sam Martin. A 6’5” righty relief man from Texas Wesleyan, Martin started the season in Laredo before catching on in Grand Prairie. With the AirHogs, he posted a 2.45 ERA over the course of 19 appearances - the bulk of them out of the pen. The 23-year-old allowed just 8 earned runs over 29.1 innings and struck out 15.
Martin is a graduate of Little Elm High in Little Elm, TX and is from Tampa, FL originally. He played collegiately at Centenary College of Louisiana (Shreveport, LA), Frank Phillips College (Borger, TX), and Texas Wesleyan University (Fort Worth, TX).
The franchise announced February 3rd that it has signed him for the 2016 season. Look for Martin to be a key piece of the bullpen in the upcoming year!
