SIOUX CITY -- The opener of a 3-game set between the Texas AirHogs and the Sioux City Explorers has been postponed due to inclement weather that rendered field conditions unplayable at Lewis and Clark Park Friday. The teams will play a doubleheader June 17th starting at 6:05 pm.
A sudden heavy rainstorm at 7:15 caused muddy conditions around Mercy Field and ultimately caused a postponement after approximately 90 minutes of delay and field preparation. LHP James Russell (1-1, 2.61 ERA) and LHP Hobbs Johnson are expected to square off in Game 1 tomorrow. RHP Carlos Contreras (0-2, 3.75 ERA) is expected to start for the AirHogs in Game 2, and LHP Kramer Sneed (0-1, 10.80 ERA) is expected to take the hill for the Explorers.
Each game will be slated for 7 innings. A live stream will be available at mixlr.com/TXAirHogs. For the latest information on the Texas AirHogs, follow them on Facebook and Twitter.
