GRAND PRAIRIE -- The Texas AirHogs are happy to announce the signing of right-handed relief pitcher Kevin Hilton. An alum of Cal State San Marcos and the Desert League, Hilton fired 2 scoreless innings in the AirHogs’ July 8th win vs. the Salina Stockade.
Hilton attended Point Loma High School before playing at Cal State San Marcos. He finished 5-2 with a 4.11 ERA in 2013 at Cal State and went 4-3 with 1 save, 48 strikeouts and a 3.56 ERA in 2014. He threw 73.1 innings in 2014, the 6th highest total in the history of the Cougar baseball program.
Hilton previously played for the Somerton Caneros of the Desert League, tossing 10 ⅓ innings for the team. He finished his brief Caneros career with a 2.71 ERA and 12 strikeouts.
“I’ve been waiting a long time for an opportunity like this,” Hilton said of joining the AirHogs. “It’s been a pleasure so far. These guys have a lot of experience, and being the rookie on the team, I have a lot to learn from them. I look forward to doing what I can and absorbing as much as I can.”
Hilton and the AirHogs open a 3-game set at Cleburne tonight at 7:06 pm. A live radio broadcast from The Depot will be available through mixlr.com/TXAirHogs.
Tickets for the next AirHogs’ homestand, beginning July 18th vs. Wichita are available. Email email@example.com for more details. For the latest information on the AirHogs, follow the team on Twitter and Facebook @TXAirHogs.
