Kurt Heyer got the start for the Explorers. He allowed 5 straight to reach, including 3 via walk, before he was pulled from the game in the top half of the 1st and relieved by Ryan Flores. The AirHogs got out to a 2-run lead vs. Heyer in the 1st only to have Sioux City rack up a run later in the 1st and 4 in the 3rd to take a 5-2 advantage. A 2-out, 2-RBI double by Grider highlighted a 3-run 4th that leveled the game at 5. The X’s struck right back though in the bottom of the 4th, scoring twice to build a lead they would not relinquish.

PJ Francescon threw a scoreless 9th to earn his 12th save of the year. The Explorers were led by Jayce Ray, who finished with 2 hits, 1 run scored, and 3 RBIs. Beamer Weems reached 4 times in the contest, finishing with 1 hit, a run scored and an RBI. Each team finished with 7 hits in the game. The AirHogs committed 3 errors.
