SIOUX FALLS -- Seven of nine AirHogs finished with multiple hits on another banner night for the Texas offense in Sioux Falls Saturday. 17 hits for the bats plus a strong, 7-inning performance from Michael Freeman spelled a 6-3 win, the team’s 2nd in a row over the Canaries.

The AirHogs got off to a solid start, using 3 hits and an RBI by Jake Taylor to take a 1-0 lead vs. Sioux Falls starter Miles Nordgren in the top of the 1st. Freeman would allow 3 hits and a run to the Canaries in the bottom of the 1st to equalize the score at 1.

Back-to-back doubles by Beamer Weems and Charley Thurber helped the AirHogs reclaim the lead at 2-1 in the top of the 2nd before the Canaries scored twice on 2 walks, 2 sacrifices and 2 errors in the bottom of the 2nd vs. Freeman to stake a 3-2 lead.

Texas tagged Nordgren for 4 runs in the top of the 3rd, and from there, the back and forth affair ceased. Neither team would score after the 4-run explosion by the AirHogs. Freeman would end up with 7 innings pitched for the 4th start this season. He allowed 5 hits, 3 runs (2 earned) while striking out 4 and walking 2. He surrendered only 2 hits after the 1st inning.
