GRAND PRAIRIE -- The Texas AirHogs downed the Salina Stockade 7-3 at AirHogs Stadium Monday, getting back on the winning track behind a strong start from Jared Mortensen and a solid performance from the offense. The AirHogs never trailed in the game, and every bat either reached base and/or picked up an RBI.

Mortensen tallied 5 innings of 2-run ball, holding the Stockade at bay while striking out 4 and walking 3. He improved to 5-1 with the win.

The AirHogs got to Salina starter Jordan Cummings for 4 runs in the 1st 3 innings before Thurber took the starter for an opposite field, 2-run home run to put the game out of reach at 6-2 in the 5th. Alvaro Rondon and Casio Grider each scored twice in the game. Denis Phipps picked up 2 RBIs, and Ryan Wagner scored and picked up an RBI of his own.

Luis De La Cruz, Jacob Morris, and Rob Tasin each faced the minimum in the 7th, 8th and 9th in relief to finish off the victory after Scott Firth initially replaced Mortensen in the 6th. Cummings dropped to 1-4 with the loss after allowing 6 runs (5 earned) over 6 and striking out 8.
