GRAND PRAIRIE -- The Texas AirHogs earned their 2nd walkoff win of the season Monday at AirHogs Stadium. The team broke a 5-5 tie with Salina on a walkoff hit by pitch taken by Ryan Wagner in the bottom of the 10th with the bases loaded.

Austin Kubitza got the start for the AirHogs and allowed 4 runs over his 1st 3 innings. He kept the AirHogs in it though by facing the minimum in the 4th through the 6th. Kevin Hilton handled 3 innings of long relief after, allowing just 1 run.

An RBI base hit from Ryne Willard got the AirHogs on the board in the 2nd, and the team added another run in the 3rd, this time on an RBI groundout by Denis Phipps that scored Casio Grider. A home run in the 6th by Levi Scott off Stockade starter Troy Mannebach trimmed the deficit to 4-3. The long ball was the 6th of the season for Scott and his 2nd in the last 2 series.

Texas got to Cody Strayer, a Stockade reliever working in his 3rd frame in the 9th, for 2 runs to erase a 5-3 deficit. Ryne Willard picked up an RBI on a groundout after the team initially got on the board on 1 of 2 errors in the game by Salina.

Rob Tasin pitched a scoreless top half of the 10th before the AirHogs struck in the bottom half. Texas left the bases loaded in the 9th only to find them loaded again in the 10th vs. Salina reliever Lance Fairchild. With 2 outs, Wagner, who had entered the game as a pinch hitter in the 9th, took the HBP that scored Scott from 3rd and won the game.

Rob Tasin moved to 2-1 with the win. Lance Fairchild dropped to 1-1 with the loss. The win improved the AirHogs to 3-3 in extra inning games this season. The AirHogs now have 2 walkoff wins. Both have come in the last week vs. Salina and both have been 6-5 finals.

Texas (35-51) and Salina (16-70) continue the 4-game series tomorrow. LHP Michael Freeman (4-4, 3.43 ERA) is expected to start for the AirHogs vs. LHP Connor Bach (1-6, 7.67 ERA) for the Stockade. A live stream of the game will be available at mixlr.com/TXAirHogs and American Association Baseball TV.
