GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas – Dillon Thomas went deep, and Li Ning reached base four times, but the Texas AirHogs dropped the finale of the three-game set vs. Wichita 3-1 Sunday afternoon at AirHogs Stadium.

Pitching on his 22nd birthday, righty Gan Quan (0-4) got the start for Texas and allowed three runs over the first three innings. Two of the early tallies for Wichita came on solo home runs by Zach Nehrir. The AirHogs starter settled in to fire four straight scoreless innings to complete the start but suffered the loss. He struck out three and walked two while allowing five hits.

Seth Harvey (3-0) went five innings as the starter for Wichita. He allowed two hits and no runs in earning the victory. Thomas tagged reliever Brady Bowen for a solo homer in the seventh for the only run of the game for Texas. The blast was the fifth of the year for Thomas.

The AirHogs threatened to bridge the late two-run deficit but stranded six men on base over the last three innings, including the bases loaded in the eighth.

Li Ning finished the game with two singles and two walks, reaching base in all four plate appearances. He reached in all seven of his plate appearances in the series, becoming the first AirHog to reach in every plate appearance in a series. The catcher also caught two runners stealing.

Daniel Tillman notched his seventh save by recording the final four outs for the Wingnuts. Lu Zhenhong recorded two hits. Yang Yanyong and Lu Yusong combined to throw two innings of scoreless relief for Texas. The AirHogs left eight men on base vs. four for the visitors.
