In the last 5 years, Amarillo and Grand Prairie have played host to 5 players who have gone on to play in the MLB.
RHP Jake Holdzkom played in Amarillo in 2013-14 and debuted with the Pirates late in the 2014 season. OF David “Freight Train” Peralta was in Amarillo in 2013 before signing with the Diamondbacks. He racked up 144 hits for Arizona last season.
Pitchers Chris Martin, James Paxton, and Bo Schultz all spent time in Grand Prairie before climbing to the Major Leagues. Each was part of The Show in 2015. Martin pitched with the Yankees while Paxton hurled 67 innings for the Mariners and Schultz threw 43 innings for the Blue Jays.
